Transportation Application: Suffolk

(Note: If you require busing for the remainder of this school year, please use the 2023-2024 application and indicate in the comments section "Application for remainder of 2022-2023")

IMPORTANT TIMELINES

To ensure your child will have access to the bus, transportation applications must be received by June 30, of any school year. Routing for the upcoming school year is finalized in June and stops that have no students registered as of July 2 will be removed from the run.

  • Students requesting transportation after June 30, of any given year, must register by completing this application form and submitting it to the Transportation Department. Students will only be permitted to ride once their application is received at the Transportation office and has been processed.
  • In terms of the Alberta Education funding regulations there are two criteria for eligibility to receive bus service:
    1. Students must attend their designated school. This designation is in terms of: a. Established school boundaries; or b. The division directs a student to an out-of-boundary school for specific specialized programming.
    2. The student must live 2.4km or more away from the designated school. "Is my child eligible?" follow this link. If your child is ineligible, you may still apply for busing to place your child on a wait list.
  • All transportation changes must be submitted online through the FSD Website on the Transportation page.
  • No changes will be accepted over the phone.
  • Address changes MUST be made at the school first.
  • If your student needs any specialized supports to ride the bus (wheelchair, etc.) please use the comments field to indicate your child's requirements.
  • Please familiarize yourself and your child with the bus safety information.

If at any time you wish to cancel the busing for your child, please submit the bus cancellation form through the FSD Website on the Transportation page. Note no verbal cancellations or requests will be accepted.

Please refrain from using your computer's autofill in the address fields as this creates errors in the application and may cause you to have to apply again. Thank you.

I understand and agree that all communications regarding transportation will be directed to the transportation department and that I will not approach the driver to discuss these concerns. If my concern is about the route, bus stop location or bus driver these communications will be made in writing via the FHSD website.
